discipleship groups

“For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ…”

Ephesians 4:12

At Abide, our vision is to be a community of empowered, missional disciples.

Discipleship Group Formation is more than joining a group — it’s stepping into intentional discipleship. This
8-week experience is designed to help you grow as a disciple of Jesus while learning how to walk alongside others in authentic Biblical community. And the goal of this training is to launch groups to continue meeting in homes on a weekly basis.

Whether you hope to lead one day or simply want to grow deeper in your faith, this journey will help you:
• Grow as a disciple through consistent Scripture engagement and application.
 • Learn how to encourage, challenge, and pray for others in their walk with Christ.
 • Practice living out your faith in everyday life.
 • Discover your spiritual gifts and how God uses them to build up His Church.
 • Develop habits that shape you into a mature follower of Jesus.

How It Works
Everyone participates.
You’ll join a small group of others committed to growing as disciples together. Over eight weeks, you’ll practice rhythms of discipleship — studying Scripture, sharing honestly, praying consistently, seeking the Holy Spirit and applying truth in real life.
At the end of the 8 weeks, your group will launch as an official Discipleship Group at Abide Church and continue meeting weekly in homes — not just as friends, but as a community committed to ongoing discipleship.
Groups will meet through November 2026, before taking a break for the Holiday season. And leaders will meet during the first week of each month for support, encouragement and accountability.

What to Expect
• Groups of 8–10 people meeting weekly for 8 weeks at Abide Church.
• Guided conversations centered on Scripture and real-life application.
• Space for accountability, encouragement, and prayer.
• A highly relational format — no lectures, just intentional discipleship.

The Outcome
By the end of the 8 weeks, you’ll have:
• Deeper spiritual maturity and Christ-centered friendships.
 • Greater clarity around your calling and spiritual gifts.
 • Confidence in practicing the habits of discipleship.
 • Tools to disciple others in everyday life.
 • For some — readiness to shepherd and lead a group.

No matter where you are in your journey, you will leave having experienced discipleship the way Jesus designed it: walking closely with Him and helping others do the same.

We hope you can join us as we begin Discipleship Groups on Tuesday, March 17th at 7 pm.
